Fluff: Halle Berry ordered to pay $16,000 a month in child support

Hollywood star Halle Berry and her ex Gabriel Aubry didn’t have the most amicable of break-ups, and now the actress has been ordered to pay Aubry $16,000 per month in child support.

Berry, 47, and Aubry, 38, who split in 2010, currently have joint custody of 6-year-old daughter Nahla.

According to court documents filed May 30 in Los Angeles superior court, Berry is to also pay Aubry a retroactive payment of $115,000 as well as covering his attorney fees, which add up to $300,000.

Berry is also paying 100% of Nahla’s private school tuition, and 50% of any medical expenses that may occur, that aren’t already covered by Berry’s health insurance plan.

Aubry was arrested in 2012 following a physical altercation with Berry’s now husband Olivier Martinez, only weeks after successfully blocking Berry’s request to relocate to France with Nahla and Martinez.

Berry and Martinez, whom she married in July 2013, welcomed son Maceo last October.

Good. It should work both ways.

The point of child support is to try and create equity in both homes. It is not ideal for a child to live in luxury in one home and see the other parent struggle in the other.

I'm sure Berry can afford it. Her ex probably supported her while she was away making movies. He also has every right to stop her from relocating to France. Why do some parents think that moving children away from the other parent is ok, just because they meet someone new?

And yet every time mums are awarded alimony people call them gold diggers. I'd honestly never heard that explanation before.
