There's another Harry Potter movie in the works. And Eddie Redmayne is in it.

He’s no Harry, but he might be better.

Amazing, wizard-related news. There’s a Harry Potter spin-off coming and, while it’s not about Harry and his adventures chasing DEATH, it’s still about magic and that’s pretty damn cool.

The spin-off is called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the lead role has been offered to Oscar-winning adorable geek Eddie Redmayne. Apparently Redmayne is very excited about the script, because he’s not an idiot and realises wizards are awesome.

The movie, which is absolutely in no way whatsoever a “prequel or sequel to Harry Potter”, as J.K. Rowling has made clear, will follow the adventures of Redmayne’s character, Newt Scamander, a zoologist who loves magical creatures.

You’ve probably forgotten all of these ridiculously famous people that were in the Harry Potter series. Post continues after gallery.

Fantastic Beasts is based from a book that was mentioned in the Harry Potter series as one of Harry’s school text books. It’s supposed to be set seven decades before Harry Potter was even a twinkle in Voldemort’s eye, but we’re trusting J.K. to throw some appropriate Potter-related references in there.

And if she doesn’t, we’re still going to be excited about it because it’s MAGIC, you guys. Also, J.K. Rowling is writing the script which means it will be fantastic.
