A beauty blogger just proved why you should NEVER cut your own fringe.

There are times in life when you just want to change up your look.

Most women will reach for a brighter shade of lippy, but the more ambitious will reach for a pair of scissors.

Opting for a fringe is always, always risky business. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Get it right, you’re bloody Zooey Deschanel, but get it wrong and suddenly you’re channelling a Dumb and Dumber era Jim Carrey.

French beauty vlogger Envy Deladyd is one of the brave ones.

The YouTuber recently decided to go DIY on her mane and dear God, it did not end well.

Armed with a pair of clippers, a comb and a heart full of pluck, she went for it.

The results… speak for themselves.

Next time you’re thinking of giving yourself the chop, think of Envy Deladyd.

I've cut my own fringe for many years. The day just comes when I can't stand it in my eyes a minute longer.

Yes, it's hilarious, mainly because of her own reaction. BUT, if you watch to the end of the video, it's actually done perfectly. It's just the way her hair was sitting. Anyone who's ever unpinned their fringe after having in pinned back for a while will get the same look. 😊

Yep exactly. It looks perfectly fine in the full video, though it would have been easier if she went and wet it after cutting to make it a lot quicker to re-style. Meanwhile, I really don't understand why a lot of beauty/hair writers like to make out like cutting a fringe is soooo hard. It's usually not an issue if you take off small amounts at a time and cut longer than you think at first. You don't need a hairdresser

Eh, that depends. I wouldn't risk trimming my fringe myself, because I've got a shaky hand and because my hair type is a bit difficult to deal with. Seeing my hairdresser doesn't charge me for trims and she's just up the street, it's a no-brainer for me to let her do it for me.

Wow, your hairdresser is a rarity. Most places charge $18-20 for a fringe trim - even Just Cuts!

$18-20?! No way! Crazy. My place does fringe trims free for regulars but still only charges $10 for drop-ins.
