Ask Mia #7 + at what age did you hit your stride?

With a brief pause to sign for room-service (cheesecake), in this Ask Mia video I do a quick show and tell of my shopping trip to Chapel Street, discuss my natural hair colour, whether magazine editors are all like Anna Wintour and why being a lightweight when it comes to drugs and alcohol has been an excellent thing for my writing.

Also, I answer (and ask) the question: at what age did you really hit your stride?

So. At what age DID you hit your stride?

Loved your video from the hotel in Melbourne. First time I have been on the site but always enjoy reading your column in the West on Saturday. You look absolutely gorgeous in the video and without makeup and wet hair !!! Wow that is amazing. Will certainly come on line at Mamamia again. You were so natural and engaging. Keep writing - love your sense of humour.

Go Julia
I am fed up with male politicians putting down women who finally make it into a leadership role. Take Carmen Lawrence, Cheryl Kernot and Joan Kirner for instance who all came unstuck because of men who sort to do everything they could to undermine those women's positions. Who is fed up with the mantra of "Great big new tax" and the scare campaign being waged by Tony Abbot and his cronies about every new initiative that Julia and her team propose? Don't forget girls we too have powerful weapons called "the vote" and "a brain". Don't be intimidated by these scare tactics. Let common sense and compassion for fellow Australians who have suffered during the floods and those refugees desperate to be part of our society prevail. Women want to create a better future for their children so if that means paying a bit extra to help those less fortunate or clean up the polluted earth it's worth it.

As far as I'm concerned Mr Abbott isn't screaming anywhere near as loudly as I am! I want this Government GONE - NOW - TODAY!!

Ann, I don't have time to set you straight but I can tell you that taxing Australians and pushing businesses overseas is not going to leave our children with a cleaner world, just a poorer Australia.
