He took his baby to a party at the Playboy mansion

Kelsey Grammer is defending his decision to bring his 3-month-daughter to Hugh Hefner's Playboy mansion.

If you missed the controversy, TMZ posted a photo of Grammer's 3-month-old daughter, Faith, fast asleep in her baby carrier at the Playboy Mansion for their annual Halloween party.

In a statement sent to the press, Grammer, 57, admitted he and wife Kayte Grammer brought their daughter to the party, but said it was for a good reason.

"Kayte is breast-feeding and we do not have a nanny or a trusted baby-sitter at this time, so Faith goes everywhere with us," said Grammer.

"We enjoyed the party with a few of our friends, the baby slept as her ears were covered the entire time and we left shortly after midnight."

According to TMZ:

"We broke the story … Kelsey brought baby Faith to the annual bash this weekend … where she slept in her tiny car seat well past midnight while music BLARED and drunk people stumbled by.

In the pic, obtained by TMZ … Faith is being monitored by an unknown hot chick — who appears to be drinking — with some empty and half-empty cups right next to the baby. It's unclear if the woman is by herself or with other people."

A spokesperson for Kelsey told Mail Online:

“I am not sure why this is a story.  People have taken their infant children out with them since the beginning of time.

“They didn’t stay long, and left before it got too noisy.”

I guess "people" don’t often take their infants to parties with with the kind of reputation Playboy parties have. I'm torn between finding it endearing that they take their baby everywhere to being really disturbed about the half-empty abandoned drinks next to the baby carrier (you can see the photo here).

In any case it could be first time that breasts were used for something other than ogling at a Playboy party.

Should we be cutting Kelsey (and wife Kayte) some slack? Shouldn’t parents be able to go out and enjoy themselves?
