This teenager is selling her virginity for a very worrying reason.

A European teenager is hoping to sell her virginity for more than a million dollars so she can buy her parents a new house, with her mum and dad set to be evicted in February.

Aleexandra Khefren, 18, said she wants to auction herself off to save her parents from homelessness, but will use any left over cash to pay for her to study at Oxford University.

“I am thinking it is strictly business not emotional. I think it will be alright, I think a glass of wine will be enough to get through,” she told ITV’s This Morning program.

She also told the hosts of the UK breakfast show the idea had come from a film.

"I was 15, I saw a movie on TV it was about a girl who sold herself for one night. Maybe I could do this with my virginity. I saw many girls who sold themselves for £3.5 million or more," she said.

Khefren is expecting to rake in more than €1 million, which is the equivalent of over $14 million Australian.

Presenter Holly Willoughby appeared worried about the young woman's plan, while her co-host Phillip Schofield labelled it "a tragedy".

"It’s a tragedy that it’s come to this. I hope personally that there is some miracle that your parents don’t have to get evicted," he said.

Their concerns were echoed by audience members on social media.

"I just want her to win the lottery or something so she doesn't go through this," one posted on Twitter.

"I pray she changes her mind," another wrote.
