Her brother is accused of murdering 9 people, so she wants you to pay for her wedding.

Most insensitive crowdfunding campaign… ever?

The sister of accused mass-murderer Dylann Roof set up a crowdfunding campaign for her wedding, but has now taken it down.

Good.

Last month, Roof — who has now been revealed as a white supremacist —  sat for an hour in the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston before reportedly  opening fire on the congregation and killing nine black people.

Read about it here: A 21-year-old man has been arrested in Charleston hate crime shooting.

His sister, Amber, cancelled her wedding, which was supposed to take place four days later, because of the massacre.

“Our wedding day was supposed to be the most important and special day of our lives,” the woman identifying as Amber wrote on her GoFundMe page.

“It was supposed to be the start of our lives together with our new family. Our day was the exact opposite. Our wedding day was full of sorrow, pain, and shame, tainted by the actions of one man.”

This may well be true, but in the list of victims affected by this despicable hate-crime, Amber doesn’t rank high on the list.

On the page, ‘A Fresh Start For Michael and Amber’, Amber also wrote that the media had “abused their privacy” by sharing details of their planned nuptials.

She explained her decision to postpone the wedding “to protect our family and mourn the lives of those lost” and asked for money to help cover wedding costs, bills and the couple’s “dream honeymoon”.

She also said she would donate 10% of the $5000 she was hoping for to the church in Charleston.

Five-hundred bucks.

21-year-old Dylann Roof.

Social media users were rightfully unimpressed, one Twitter user writing: “Self-obsessed and clueless, thy name is Amber.”

Another simply linked to an article about the campaign commenting, “In case you were wondering what white privilege looks like…”

Several others accused her of trying to profit from the tragedy.

Whether opportunistic or just straight-up insensitive, I can’t say I have all that much sympathy for Amber and Michael’s plight.

As for her brother, Dylann was charged with nine counts of murder and one weapons charge, but has yet to be sentenced.

She’s 23. Pregnant. And crowdfunding her abortion.

“I have every intention of having an abortion, but I’m giving you a chance to stop it.”

This book idea is completely shit. And the author wants your help to fund it.
