Cafe under fire for charging the same amount for a babycino as a coffee.

A Tasmanian cafe owner has come under fire in recent days after complaints were posted online that she was charging $3.50 for a babycino.

Leah Vigolo has owned Beaujangles Cafe in Hobart for 11 years. This week she found herself at the centre of a social media storm when a customer took her complaint to Facebook claiming that she was appalled to have been charged  $3.50 for a babycino for her child- the same price as she paid for her coffee.

Cue outrage. Cue online rants. "How very dare she!?"

However, it seems that the customer's dissatisfaction may have arisen from a simple misunderstanding. You see, this was no ordinary babycino.

Warm frothed milk, perhaps with a dusting of chocolate on top if the barista is feeling generous? Not at Baeujangles, thanks very much.

Oh no, the offending babycino was a delux babycino. "Our special babycino comes with milk and chocolate froth (I'm listening), white and chocolate chunks and lollies and sprinkles" says Ms Vigolo.

She goes on to say that she would never charge that much for a 'normal' babycino and explains that the beverage the customer received is designed to be a special treat for children.

Children? Leah, in the nicest possible way, shut up and take my $3.50 cause that babycino sounds awesome!

It appears that the complaint has since been deleted from social media.

How much is too much for a babycino?
