Well this is unexpected.

Madonna was singing Express Yourself during a rehearsal for a concert in Tel Aviv this week, when she launched into a cover of Lady Gaga‘s Born This Way.

There has been a lot of talk of a rivalry between Madonna and Lady Gaga over the past few years, as well as suggestions Lady Gaga’s Born This Way is “similar” to Express Yourself.

When Madonna was asked “What do you think about Lady Gaga – do you feel she’s copying you?” in an interview earlier this year, she replied: “I certainly think she references me a lot in her work, sometimes I think it’s amusing and flattering and well done. I can’t really be annoyed by it or insulted by it, because obviously I’ve influenced her.”
