We have all been where Derryn Hinch's ex is right now.

No one understands heartbreak better than Facebook.

Australian radio host Derryn Hinch, 71, and Natasha Chadwick, 35, have ended their two-year relationship. Though it was not a relationship we thought knew a lot about, it was one of those 36-year-gap couples that made us say “huh… Well, whatever makes them happy, right?”.

But now it’s over. Facebook said so.

Natasha doesn’t seem to be taking it so well. She wrote a sad status (which Derryn shared on his own Facebook. Couldn’t have bothered to write your own, hey Human Headline?) that said “I have a sad announcement to make. Derryn Hinch and I have ended our relationship after two years and have separated. Today, I have also resigned from the Hinch Live program. And, understandably will not be on Facebook for a while, as I need to rebuild my life. I’m devastated but will get through this.”

Oh, babes. Baaaabes. We’ve all been there. It’s going to be okay.

Although she swore off Facebook, she uploaded an album 10 hours later called ‘How do you mend a broken heart?’ with 42 of her favourite images of her and Derryn together. “A look back at some highlights and low points of the last two years with the beautiful DH.” (Some of which were memories of the time he was incarcerated for contempt, and one is a photo of the two of them in bed. GAHHH.)

Oh, Nat. Naaaaaaat. We’ve done that.

Some break-ups take you to that extra special place of crazy, where you catch yourself sobbing in the foetal position at 2 a.m, making a montage video of the best moments you spent together, set to the soundtrack of an Adele song.

So raw.

Or sending messages to the ex with ‘do you remember the time we…’ and then some romantic/sexy/heartbreaking memory of sentimentality, forever tainted with a blue hue of sadness.

There’s only one thing to do, Nat. Turn off Facebook, and go and talk to some chocolate about this.

Because, unlike Derryn Hinch and social media, chocolate will NEVER disappoint you.

Best of luck, babes.

No more of this, please Nat.
