If all kids who did this were expelled from preschool, childcare centres would be empty.
We all know our toddlers aren’t perfect but every parents lives in dread of the day that our perfect little children drop their first swearword in front of other people.
Normally we get a call from their preschool, letting us know what happened and the action they took. Most childcare workers will sit down with our children and talk about words they are allowed to use and those they are not allowed to use and that’s it.
But a preschool in San Antonio in the US has taken it much further.
The Jubilee Child Development in San Antonio in the US has expelled a three-year-old girl for saying "sh*t" while playing with her friends. Ariana Wright's mum Cassandra has no idea where her daughter picked up the curse word and while she understands the incident is serious, is shocked they've dismissed them so coldly.
"I'm still a little bit upset, but most of all was hurt, I was devastated really hurt," she told News 4. She says that not only does she feel their action was harsh but that she expected more of a daycare centre that is faith-based.
The centre claims 13 other children heard the word and some started repeating it, which prompted their harsh action.
The director of the Jubilee Child Development Center Alissa Blankenship says there's a zero-tolerance when it comes to saying a curse word. "Well as a private center and also a parent myself you know there's decisions and choices that have to make," she said. "I didn't think that this would be an isolated incident either."
