Your Complete ARIA Wrap Up

Last night marked the 26th ARIA Awards and some of the biggest names in Australian and international music attended the event to celebrate the diverse talents of our music industry.

Aussie favourites including Guy Sebastian, Rick-Lee Coulter and Molly Meldrum hit the red carpet, as well as international guest Taylor Swift who put the bevy of teenage fans into a screaming frenzy.

Fans that lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of the US country pop singer were also treated to red carpet performances from Timomatic, Justice Crew and Jessica Mauboy.

And it wasn’t just the public that were waiting for Taylor.  As I hit the red carpet, stars from Reece Mastin to Johnny Ruffo to Samantha Jade were all raving about their excitement to see Miss Swift.

Red carpet style at the awards this year was all about bold statement looks with lots of bling!  Ruby Rose collaborated with local label ‘Romance Was Born’ to create a fun and quirky, bright yellow frock whilst Rhiannon Fish and Sarah DeBono rocked shimmering sequins by Rachel Gilbert.

Gotye picked up four awards this year including the ultimate award of ‘Album Of The Year’ whilst his one time singing partner Kimbra won ‘Best Female Artist’.  It was also a night of victory for The Temper Trap who won ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Rock Album’, the Hilltop Hoods for ‘Best Urban Album’ and 360 for ‘Breakthrough Artist’.

The performances continued inside the awards with Taylor Swift performing her new hit ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and it turns out she wasn’t the only international guest in the house.  Nicki Minaj and Russell Brand also presented awards during the night  and the entertainment continued with more performances from Guy Sebastian, Missy Higgins and the Hilltop Hoods.
