What were your best and worst bits of the week?

It’s time to share our best and worst bits of the week – and what a week it’s been. It’s been a little bit chaotic here at Mamamia, as we’ve all been testing out the new site before its launch (which is coming up very soon).

With everything that’s been happening in Japan and around the world, we thought it was important to talk about the little things we’re grateful for this week. We also talked about tips for achieving a work/life balance (and whether or not fishmongers help), had a giggle when reading about everyone’s horror housemates and ridiculous fears, and looked at some really skanky horses. We admired the gorgeous renovations done by Louise from Table Tonic and saw the artwork that is the Great Wall of Vagina.

On a more serious note, we also spoke about bullying, a woman’s right to a caesarian, the nuclear disaster in Japan and real women in fashion advertising.

Now onto best and worst. If you haven’t posted before, try posting this week- there’s something therapeutic about sharing your best and worsts here. Remember your worst doesn’t necessarily have to be tragic- it can be as big or as small as you like.

As for me…

Best: When I’ve been promoting my book the past couple of weeks, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet and be interviewed by some of my favourite journalists. Like Monica Attard who asked me some really thought-provoking questions about this website and feminism and the Mamamia readers for the program One Plus One. Also Richard Aedy on Life Matters.

Worst: Japan. Enough with the disaster please Mother Nature.

Best: secured a fantastic new role with a global company! I know it's just the opportunity I have been looking for....

Worst: when I told my current employer I was resigning, he went crazy mad. I have never seen someone fly off the handle like that. Ever.

But to end on a good note, I think the good outweighs the bad in this situation :)
