AFL star Tom Hawkins and wife Emma have welcomed their first baby.

AFL star Tom Hawkins and his lifestyle blogger wife Emma have welcomed their first baby into the world.

Arabella Jennifer Hawkins was born on Tuesday, January 3. After keeping the happy news private for a few days, Emma made the announcement on her social media on Friday night.

“Our hearts are exploding with love for our beautiful baby girl,” Emma wrote, alongside her newborn’s first photo.

“The three of us have been in our own little world enjoying this precious time and loving every minute of it.”

While the baby girl’s middle name choice would lead many of us to think of a certain famous Australian supermodel, it is actually in memory of the Geelong player’s late mother, who tragically died in 2015 after a six-month battle with cancer.

Emma, who runs lifestyle website Who Loves That, has spent the last few months documenting her pregnancy on her Instagram for her 58,000 followers.

Just two weeks ago she posted a full-term bump photo.

The high school sweethearts were married in March last year after they shared their first kiss 11 years ago as 17-year-olds. They live on a property just outside of Geelong, where they raise cattle.

Little Arabella is a gorgeous new addition to the family, which of course also includes their Instagram-famous dog, Oscar.

… Let’s just hope he learns to share bub’s toys.

Just wondering - how does one "measure" at 49 weeks? What are they comparing this to - an elephant? - as no human has ever been 49 weeks pregnant !!

Is there a partner of a footballer/NRL player who is not a 'lifestyle/fashion/makeup blogger'?

Yes, there are plenty. Probably the vast majority. But we don't hear about them because their livelihood doesn't need constant affirmations from people they don't actually know in person. People whose jobs / lives are being bloggers or models or whatever need to spend their lives in the spotlight as much as possible because that's what makes them money and fulfills them as people.

Emma is (was?) also an actor, she was Brianna on We Can Be Heroes. Totally irrelevant to your comment but interesting trivia nonetheless :P
