Former Big Brother winner Tim Dormer has opened up about his same-sex relationship.

Former Big Brother winner Tim Dormer has opened up about his sexuality in an interview with Who magazine, speaking about his current relationship with bar manager and aspiring actor, Ash Toweel.

The 32-year-old, who won the reality show in 2013, told the magazine, “I have always been fluid in my sexuality.” He explained, “even on Big Brother, I talked about my bisexuality and that I’ve always been about people, not the sexuality or gender.”

“I’ve dated girls, but have always been open to dating guys,” he said.

Tim and Ash met at a party in 2014, and went on a spontaneous trip to Byron Bay soon after. While the pair have been close ever since, Tim only told his family and friends about their relationship upon returning from his stint on Big Brother Canada earlier this year.

“I finally fell in love,” Tim told Who, adding that he’s “proud” of his relationship with Ash and really “missed” him when he was away in Canada.

The two currently live together in an apartment in Sydney’s Bondi.

Interestingly, headlines today have been quick to label the reality TV star as “gay,” despite the fact that he has carefully chosen the term “bisexuality” to describe his sexual orientation.

In an Instagram post, Dormer wrote: “I’ve never been interested in labels which categorise and divide. I’m only interested in celebrating what we all have in common, the freedom to share the most precious beautiful gift that holds this magnificent universe together…LOVE.”

Why do people feel the need to 'tell the world' about their relationships? It's 2016 people, no one is that bothered by who's dating who are they??

Because people want to know.

Not me, personally I couldn't care less who is dating who, but it's a topic that sells magazines. Where would New Idea and the like be if they stopped gossiping about celebs relationships?

Unfortunately that's not at all the case. Bisexuals in particular see very few representations of themselves in the media and wider society which contributes to the belief that it's not a 'real' sexuality. All power to Mr Dormer and partner and I hope they're very happy together.

Well, I'm guessing they didn't do the spread in Who for nothing. Hey, I'd probably announce my relationship to the world too if someone wanted to pay me to do it! But then I'm just a big old cynic!
