In the beginning, Canberra couple, Nick and Sarah Jensen created a sh*tstorm when they announced that they will divorce if Australia legalises same-sex marriage.

On the Second Day, the public pointed out, it’s not actually possible for them to be divorced if they are still living together. Bless them for trying.

Lo, on the Third Day, the Jensens were being scratched off friendship lists. Published in the Adelaide Now, long-term friend of the couple, Annie Haggar, officially uninvited the couple to her wedding. Annie said, “I don’t want you anywhere near my wedding. You and your views are not welcome, because you’re right — the institution we’re marrying into isn’t the same one you think you’re in.” Oh goodness gracious.

And on the Fourth Day, the internet went forth and was fruitful with glorious responses to the Jensens.

Jesse Mount, another person baffled by the Jensens, has created a Facebook event “Celebrating Nick and Sarah Jensen’s DIVORCE!” The date is yet to be announced, however, Jesse hopes for the 1st of September. Their “divorce” may be the most popular Australia event of the year, with over 99,000 people attending.

They aren't getting divorced, they are de-registering their marriage. They will still be married.
