BEHOLD: The first Season 3 cast photos of The Crown are here and they're glorious.

In very important The Crown news, our first glimpses of the revised Season 3 cast is coming through, and we are excited.

Earlier this week we got our first photo of Olivia Colman in her role as Queen Elizabeth II and today we got a peak of Helena Bonham Carter as the rebellions Princess Margaret.

That’s two characters down… and we’d like all the episodes to Season 3 now please.

On Tuesday, the streaming giant finally shared a photo of Colman in a tweet with a caption that simply said: “patience”.

Well, we’re very sorry, but we have none of that, Netflix, you tease. If anything this sneak peak has got us more excited.

Sadly, however, with the new episodes set to drop sometime in 2019, we’ve got a wait on our hands.

Currently we know that the 44-year-old, Broadchurch actress will be reprising the role of Queen Liz from Claire Foy, who played the monarch in her younger years for the first two seasons. The third season of the show will chart the royal family from 1964 to the early 1970s, which roughly follows from the second season's ending.

Other confirmed cast members for this season include Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as Prince Phillip and Ben Daniels who will be playing Margaret's husband Antony Armstrong-Jones, who was commonly known as Lord Snowden.

On Twitter in May Bonham Carter wrote she was "terrified" about her role in the hit series.

“I’m not sure which I’m more terrified about – doing justice to the real Princess Margaret or following in the shoes of Vanessa Kirby’s Princess Margaret. The only thing I can guarantee is that I’ll be shorter," she tweeted.

Recently, The Hollywood Reporter also announced that Erin Doherty from Call the Midwife has been slated for the role of the Queen's daughter, Princess Anne.

It's still unknown who will be playing Prince Charles, although it's been rumoured that Josh O'Connor - who starred in the 2017 Sundance-winning film God's Own Country, is being considered. Likewise, Prince Charle's wife Camilla Parker Bowles is expected to be introduced this season as well, although show runners have remained tight lipped about her casting too.

Unfortunately, that's all we know so far, but we'll be updating this post as more information in released. Watch this space.
