Behold, The Bachelor's Alex Nation has had a hair change.

There was a running joke on last season’s The Bachelor that brunettes didn’t stand a chance thanks to Richie Strahan’s apparent preference for blondes.

While he denied it after the show, winner Alexandra Nation isn’t doing anything to stem the rumours.

The 24 year old revealed her new ‘do on Instagram over the weekend – and it couldn’t get much blonder.

“This weather can stay @hairbyjesslewis, you can also stay in my life, forever! Thank you so much for my fresh locks – you are a queen,” she captioned the snap.

Her bronde balayage has been replaced by a platinum, almost white blonde colour.

It was a resounding thumbs up from her followers.

“Looks so good Alex!! Yay for fresh hair!’ wrote one user, while another added “Love your hair this colour, stunning! Looks heaps better than before.” (Post continues after gallery.)

Alex and Richie

While on the surface the change definitely supports the joke that Strahan is brunette-ist, he previously revealed that Nation isn’t actually a natural blonde.

“Can I just point out that I think Alex is like a secret brunette… I’ve got nothing against brunettes and I watched those Vine videos as well and it was hilarious. ‘Like if you were a brunette on that show, you had it coming! It was just a matter of time’,” he joked on The Project last month.

Secret brunette, yes Richie, that’s what women who dye their hair are…

She’s not the only contestant from this year’s show to undergo a hair change over the weekend.

After regular comparisons to Lara Bingle, Keira Maguire has ditched her signature hair flick and side part.

“MIDDLE PART! Thanks @lexibannister_hair for both booking me in last minute… and for my hair makeover #yourethebest #obsessed with you,” she wrote.

Her usually-straight lob was also tonged to add some gentle waves.

Sick of catty women 8 years ago

I just find the comments from bitchy , brunette women about Richie liking blondes so ridiculous. I noticed when the bachelor was on TV on social media there were a lot of bitchy comments from brunette women because all the finalists were blonde women. I doubt any of these brunettes that were leaving catty comments would have cared if all the finalists were all brunettes. I am a blonde woman and I don't care if a man has a preference for brunettes because I'm not insecure.
