There are two things I will always, always say yes to: a cup of tea and a bath. So when I learned it’s possible to actually bathe in tea, I shed a tear of joy and promptly placed an order.
One Australian company making this saint-like combination a reality is Temple Tea Baths, which is operated by naturopath Natasha Linz.
“I really enjoy hand-mixing and concocting herbs for certain conditions, but I found the tea market over-saturated and struggled to have a different angle,” Linz says.
“I was in class one day and the lecturer briefly mentioned bath teas. I loved the concept, did a bit of research and the rest is history.”
Temple Tea Baths are concocted with a variety of herbs, each with their own healing and therapeutic properties. To enhance this effect, Linz mixes herbs that have similar qualities.
Each Bath Tea pack also contains four written affirmations, one to accompany each bath. “This creates a complete mind-body experience, allowing you to relax, reflect and have a time for yourself,” she explains.
When it comes to the ultimate bath, Linz has four recommendations: "Dim lights. Candles. Temple Bath Tea. Breathe." With that in mind, I put Tea Baths to the test.
After running some hot water, I added poured some of the tea mix into a little mesh bag and popped it into the tub.
The concoction I tried was 'Nourishment', which includes buttermilk, chamomile, oats, rose, lavender, coconut and Himalayan pink salts — ingredients Linz describes as "uplifting and relaxing".
The essential oils from the ingredients quickly filled the room, but they weren't overpowering. The salts and oats were really moisturising, and I felt amazing afterwards; my skin was so soft and smelt incredible.
Would I try Temple Tea Baths again? Guaran-tea-d. (Post continues after gallery.)

Linz says the Chai mix, which includes Cinnamon, Fennel, Ginger, Star Anise, Cardamom and Buttermilk, helps stimulate blood circulation, calm the nervous system and support digestion — and you'll leave the tub smelling delicious.
