A mother got her daughter hooked on ice - and the reason is unbelievable.

A teenage girl became hooked on ice after her mother encouraged her to use the drug to get back at her father.

The 16-year-old, who has been given the pseudonym Madison by the court, developed a serious drug addiction which led to a life of violence and prostitution.

Madison’s father took the Department of Family and Community Services to the Supreme Court last October after the Children’s Court placed her in the department’s care. She has since been ordered to live with her father.

Justice Richard White criticised the Department for failing to help the girl’s father. The case will now be brought before Department head Michael Coutts-Trotter and Family and Community Services Minister Gabrielle Upton.

“It was no exaggeration I think to say at that time the application involved matters of life and death,” the judge said.

It has been revealed that Madison was a bright student and a talented athlete until the age of 12, when her mother first began giving her marijuana.

She was then suspended from two different schools and her mother went on to give her an ice pipe.

As her drug addiction spiralled out of control, Madison’s mother took an AVO out against her and she was admitted to hospital in a psychotic state after a drug binge lasting 10 days. She ended up as a fulltime user, living on the street.

Judge White ordered the department to pay for Madison’s ongoing psychologist’s appointments and asked the Minister to consider helping with the costs of Madison’s sport and recreational activities.

Yes this article is about ice but did you really need to post the Faces of Meth pictures for the hundredth time, with the caption, "In case you needed more reasons to say no to ice" when this article was about someone who did not choose to take it?

Some of the before and after photos should be posted everywhere for people to see. It is like their face is melting off in the after photos.
