Taylor Swift nails a ridiculously sexist question on the red carpet.

When are we going to learn?

We’ve got a new contender for Worst Example of Sexist Behaviour Ever. This one’s going to be hard to beat.

On the Grammy Awards red carpet, Taylor Swift was being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight presenter Nancy O’Dell. It started off only slightly offensive, when Nancy asked her cameraman to pan down to Taylor’s shoes because, “I just wanted to show the legs.”

And then it just got so much worse.

“You’re going to walk home with a lot more than maybe just a trophy tonight. I think lots of men.”

Introducing: Throwing Shade, the Taylor Swift Special.

Let’s zoom in a bit…

Taylor answers the horrible question in a brilliant way: “I’m not going to walk home with any men tonight. I’m going to hang out with my friends and then I go home to the cats.”

Watch the entire, uncomfortable moment below. Post continues after video.

Nancy laughs. Taylor looks uncomfortable. It was a truly horrendous moment to witness. But what makes it worse, if that’s even possible, is that Entertainment Tonight have uploaded the interview to their YouTube channel and captioned it: “Sorry, fellas.”

NO. When are we going to learn that it is not okay to ask a successful, empowering female about how many guys she’s going to take home.

If we were Nancy O’Dell, we’d be taking a long hard look at Taylor’s shade face and learning from this train-wreck of a mistake.

The whole industry is about looks and sex. Taylor is part of it so it's a bit hypocritical to act like the question is offensive.

No it's not. Especially when Taylor promotes herself using her talent, drive, bevvy of strong female friends and her stance on feminism, rather than her sex appeal.

It's not her fault that the industry she works in is sexist. It's a good thing to call it out when it comes up in an obvious manner.

Agree, Taylor also remained polite.

The dress purposefully puts her legs on display. The part about taking home men is likely a dig at Taylor Swift 's take them and leave them dating history & nothing at all to do with her 'empowerment' much less feminism in general. Taylor Swift is a commodity. Nothing more, nothing less. If her personal life reflected real empowerment for a woman and not doing whatever you want in the name of success, smart business, financial gain and good press - who and whatever else being disposable I'd be more impressed by her.
When women learn that exposing them in an enticing way and then being offended.when someone comments on it is simply immature all women will be better off. Beyonce wore a very revealing dress and I've seen much media coverage commenting successively about her body. She hasn't spoken a defensive word, nor issue an indignant expression. Why? Because she knew very well that exposing her breast would result in such reactions.
Grow Miss Swift or wear something not designed to draw comment on your sexuality.
