The brief for Derby Day was black and white. She wore red (and lots of it) and suddenly had everyone asking ‘who is Dita Von Teese?’
Dita Von Teese (real name: Heather Renée Sweet) is known as the “International Queen of Burlesque”. She’s a burlesque model, dancer and she’s known for her feminine 1940’s inspired style. She’s also really good at wearing red lipstick and towering heels.
Dita was in Australia for the first day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival – a guest in the Lavazza coffee marquee. Organisers pay huge amounts of money for stars like Von Teese to come along the four race days. (Von Teese’s fee was rumoured to be $50,000. Woah!)
and Kim Kardashian are some of the other stars set to turn heads at the Spring Carnival. Watch this space.
