Sophie Monk on her plan to have kids: "I would do it by myself."

Sophie Monk has a big year ahead of her in 2017.

Aside from her regular radio gig at Kiis FM, the 37-year-old is writing, directing and getting prepped to star in a new NBC show, which will take the piss out of the reality TV genre.

She’s also keen to start a family, but the self-confessed ‘commitment-phobe’ wouldn’t mind finding someone to do it with.

That said, she’s not opposed to going it alone.

“I’ve never felt clucky until now. Recently, anything little, I just want it," the former pop star told The Daily Telegraph's Jonathon Moran.

“Ideally I’d like to have kids this year but I need a guy. I reckon I would do it by myself to be honest — if it got to that time. My sister is like my husband, so she would look after it, but I would like to do it properly.”

Form an orderly queue, gentleman...

In the past Monk has dated big names like Sam Worthington, and was engaged to Benji Madden and Jimmy Esebag.

Not at the same time, obviously.

NO FILTER: Meshel Laurie explains how she managed her pregnancy without her partner:

She admitted to Moran her love of changing it up work-wise extends to "commitment-phobia in every other area" of her life.

“If I wasn’t in this industry I reckon I’d be married with four kids already but it is tough, I find, with what people’s intentions are as well," she said.

"Also, I’m not going to meet anyone because a guy might come up for a photo and it is awkward.”

Monk is currently based on the Gold Coast, but rarely stays put for too long, regardless.

“It can be lonely, so I need my three cats because it is just me in that house. I live out of a suitcase, in this industry you are always flying everywhere."
