Everyone’s favourite BFFs are back in a new movie.
Wouldn’t you just kill to go to a massive house party thrown by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler?
Both Liz Lemon and Leslie Knope are gone from our screens (but never from our hearts), but the good news for Tina Fey and Amy Poehler fans is that the longtime conspirators and best friends are now free to work together again.
In a new movie, Poehler, 43, and Fey, 45, play sisters who discover their parents are selling their childhood home and throw one last, epic teenage-style party to try and reach some kind of closure.
In their first film together, 2008’s Baby Mama, Fey was single professional Kate to Poehler’s immature, bong-smoking Angie.
Baby Mama received mixed reviews and I have to confess, I’m slightly concerned that Sisters won’t quite hit the mark either.

In Sisters, Fey and Poehler take on opposite roles as they did in Baby Mama: this time, Fey gets to play the “other sister”, while Poehler plays the straightlaced, “perfect sister”.
The film is directed by Pitch Perfect‘s Jason Moore and was written by Paula Pell, a Saturday Night Live stalwart.
It’s got cameos galore, a dance-off to a David Guetta song and boobs not fitting into dresses. It’s got double entendres (“I bet working on other people’s bushes really makes you wanna whack your weed?”) and awkward sex scenes.
It’s got everything you’d expect from a big, schlocky comedy, but none of the absurdity and acerbic wit we’ve come to expect from Fey and Poehler.
When Poehler and Fey are writing their own material, they’re the best thing to happen to comedy. When they’re performing other people’s writing, it’s hit and miss.
The projects they’ve created, starred in and/or produced (Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, Broad City, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) have all been critically acclaimed but never received the audiences of, say, a Big Bang Theory, or a Two-and-a-Half Men.
They’re too smart, too weird, too much for mainstream audiences, but comedy fans worship them.
Sisters seems like the antithesis of those projects.

The Excellence of Tina Fey
I’m hoping that the trailer doesn’t do the film justice, and that there’s more of the Fey/Poehler brilliance (like what we’ve seen at the three truly golden Golden Globes awards shows they’ve hosted) that is their trademark.
All I’m saying is, this movie had better be worthy of comedy’s two biggest stars.

As a guy and as someone that is usually skeptical of girl power type symbolic stuff while also being a women's rights advocate, I find Tina and Amy extremely funny. They are actually miles ahead of Amy Schumer.
And, i thought that this trailer was pretty hilarious. I mean, it was hitting all the hallmarks of a film like this with guys on it. Say like Seth Rogen. Except, Tina and Amy are way funnier. So is this trailer.
I disagree 100%!! I saw the trailer on facebook and tagged all my closest friends in it. We all said it looks great and cant wait for it to come out!!
