Gorgeous news: Sally Obermeder celebrates the birth of her second child via surrogacy.

Sally Obermeder and her family have welcomed their baby girl, who was born via surrogate, into the world in the US – just in time for Christmas.

Sally shared the first picture of her daughter, who she and her husband Marcus have named Elyssa Rose, on Instagram yesterday.

The TV presenter had been holed up in a Chicago hotel with her daughter Annabelle awaiting the baby’s arrival.

The pair were staying in the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel for almost two weeks, as they patiently waited for woman carrying the Obermeders’ child to give birth.

Sally, who had feared her daughter might not arrive before Christmas, said the length of trip had been beginning to wear five-year-old Annabelle down.

“We have been staying in this gorgeous hotel for 10 days now,” the 43-year-old told her Instagram followers in a post on Sunday.

“We thought by now the baby would have come and we’d be gone, but that hasn’t happened.

“Annabelle is homesick and missing her room, her routine and everything she knows.”

Sally said she and Annabelle had come home to a hotel room festively decorated decked out with a Christmas tree, which brightened her daughter’s spirits.

“Our room feels like a mini home and she hasn’t stopped smiling.”

Sally was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer while pregnant with Annabelle in October 2011, and delivered her before undergoing chemotherapy.

After being told another pregnancy was too risky, Sally and Marcus chose to pursue a surrogate to carry their child.

Congratulations to the Obermeder family.
