A US teenager has been found alive, 12 years after she was abducted.

Twelve years ago, four-year-old Sabrina Allen was kidnapped from her home state of Texas in the US.

This week, Sabrina was finally found in a little town in Mexico with her mother, who allegedly took the little girl for a scheduled weekend visit and never brought her back.

Sabrina’s mother Dara Marie Llorens has allegedly undergone extensive plastic surgery to conceal her identity.

Sabrina had been using a fake name, dyeing her hair and not attending school, her father Greg Allen said on Wednesday.

“The last thing that Sabrina said to be was: ‘Daddy, don’t ever forget me’,” Mr Allen said in a video uploaded to a GoFundMe page.

“Sabrina’s 17 now, she was not in school and her education is reportedly several years behind,” he said. “She was told that I didn’t want her and that I committed suicide.”

Llorens, 44, was taken into custody on Tuesday after a secret mission conducted jointly by US and Mexican authorities.

She is now police custody at the Travis County Jail, where she has been booked on aggravated kidnapping charges, the Daily Mail reports.

Sabrina was found to be in good physical health and flew back to Texas on Tuesday, an investigator told USA Today — but her full recovery from the ordeal will take some time, according to her father.

“Sabrina has been under an intense campaign to hate me for 12 years,” Mr Allen said. “Even though she’s back in Texas, we still have a difficult road ahead.”

“One of my goals throughout this whole orderal has been to raise awareness about parental abductions. Many people assume that if a child is with a parent it’s just fine, but that’s usually not the case.”

Mr Allen added in a statement: “I am overjoyed that Sabrina has been found alive and is safe. Our entire family would like to thank the investigators that made this happen.”

“We look forward to being reunited very soon.”

Similar case in brisbane, twin girls taken by mother after father had dropped them off at school. She was not the legal guardian of the children, so the girls should not be in her care. If the parents have to go to court to get legal custody of their children, than something isn't right. The judge wouldn't give sole custody to 1 parent unless something was concerning about the other parent. I don't agree with the comments stating that he must be an abuser, she would have gotten custody if there was any doubts in the judges mind of the child's safety. It's the same gender argument about when a mother kills her child and their is comments saying, poor mum, she must have been suffering from a mental illness and if the father did it, it's all rot in hell....

After reading the terrible things parents have done to their children from some of you... I'm reflecting on the greatness, the goodness and the gentleness my parents showered on their children. My father: never put anything before his family, worked multiple jobs when needed to provide. He rushed home every day to us, we yelling,"Daddies home". He never had a guys night and not because he was depriving himself but because he truly loved us and was where he wanted to be.

My mother stayed home with us until we were in middle school. She handled our transgressions with a soft soothing voice, sometimes we'd hear the disappointment in her tone which, to me, tore me up inside.
A lot of times, people blame bad parenting skills on the poor and uneducated. In the younger years, we were very poor. My parents self-educated themselves through the years. What made our family work was love, in the purist sense of the word. I apologize for the long rant. After reading some of your comments it poured out....and I think I'll take my 80 yr old father (my mother is no longer with us) out to breakfast this morning....because....well because there's no other place I'd rather be. Have a great day!
