real life

His dad died 10 years ago. But every night they play against each other.

When you lose a loved one, you started looking for them in everything around you.

Objects that were previously trinkets, become important tokens. When you revisit a place that you visited together, you can’t help but be transported to the past.

This story is an unusual example of finding a lost loved one in an everyday object – but a beautiful one.

In case that doesn’t make sense: in many racing video games, the high scores for each track are saved in the game. And when you race again, you can race against yourself – or against the person who holds the highest score.

The car representing the best score is called a ‘ghost’.

So this man was still able to have that connection with his father; and race his ghost.

This is just beautiful! What a lovely way this young man has found to hold onto something real that he & his father shared together when he was alive. Thank you for sharing.
