Rebel Wilson has been forced to retract a serious of enraged tweets directed at a reporter who she alleges was harassing her “sweet, sick grandma” in a pretty awkward and irresponsible case of mistaken identity.
Yesterday, Mamamia reported Wilson had called out the Features Editor at House & Garden magazine, Elizabeth Wilson (no relation to Rebel), as “total scum” and a “disgrace” for harassing her “sweet, sick grandma”, releasing her photograph to her 2.5 million followers.
After being told by fans that she had targeted the wrong person, the actress and comedian took the photo down, but is yet to publicly apologise to the woman she mistakenly, and very publicly, attacked.
In addition, Wilson is yet to delete a tweet that names Elizabeth Wilson as “disgrace”, and has instead tweeted that she’s “riled up about the situation”.
When Mamamia contacted the woman who Rebel attacked, she said she was “really disstressed” and “gobsmacked” by what had occurred.

Let's look at why this whole thing happened in the first place. Media parasites doing ANYTHING for a story on celebrities, even to the point of contacting 89yo grandmothers for a scoop. Let's talk about that, why don't we? The rubbish they write, or make up, should be illegal and does real damage. Celebrities should launch a class action to stop it once and for all.
I'm really sad to hear about this. I was contacted by the lady accused in the story above over a year ago, she was so kind and lovely, genuine, honest. She deserves an apology because she has done nothing at all to cause this, it simply isn't in her nature. Since my first contact with her, she and I have become dear friends, because of the respectful way she approached me. She earned my trust, which is a very big deal.
Rebel, you are a favourite of mine, but please, this is no way to treat a innocent person.
