While I was sitting on my stool during the commercial break, Yo Gabba Gabba (the kids show touring from the US) were next door doing a sound check for their appearance. Here’s what they look like:
I saw them as I walked onto the set and I was BESIDE myself. I’m taking Coco to the concert and we are major fans. I was meant to be discussing what’s making news but all I wanted to talk to Karl and Lisa and Georgie about was Yo Gabba Gabba (none of them had heard of it, I was shocked). They kept wincing and holding their ear pieces and saying “Can we get the audio turned down please” and I was saying “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? TURN IT UP!!!!”
When I walked off set, there was DJ Lance Rock doing his dancey-dance and I nearly fell over with excitement. The people in the suits were off-camera and half out of their suits (must have been hot) and they were watching me watch them like ‘Who’s the crazy lady who won’t stop staring?”
My best TV morning yet.

I manage a pub, which has a bottle department, and when the alcopop tax came in, people switched from RTD's to a full bottle of spirits. It was sad to see actually, I had customers who knew they had a problem with control, so they used to come in and buy 4 pre-mix Jd's, for example. Then the prices increased, and they would just get the full bottle as the prices were similar. This was 4 - 7 out of 7 days for some people. In my experience, the tax absolutely caused more problems with alcohol. I just hope the government realizes this and channels all of the income made from the tax into the health system to help pay for all of the alcohol related health issues that will increase.
Sorry meant Tuesday....but jeez it felt like a Monday...
