Federal Police raids Labor party offices in Melbourne.

The Australian Federal Police are raiding Labor party offices in Melbourne, Labor frontbencher Tony Burke has confirmed.

The AFP has said it is conducting operational activities in the area as part of an ongoing investigation, but would not provide details of the operation.

Mr Burke said there were allegations that documents had been leaked from the NBN.

“There’s no doubt the leaks that came from the NBN caused immense damage to Malcolm Turnbull when they showed that the cost blowout of the NBN, the fact that it was slower, the fact that it was going to be delayed,” Mr Burke said.

More to come.

Hopefully this finally provides enough traction to reveal the full amount of sabotage of the NBN by Malcolm Turnbull during his time as Communications Minister.
Under his watch, the NBN financially blew out and we are getting a cheaper quality of service. Anyone who has dealt with NBN Co. have their own personal disaster story.
Time for Turnbull to fess up.

Absolutely. While this might look like a political ploy to damage the ALP, it surely will play out worse for Turnbull. After all, the leaks are just a whistle-blowing exercise so it doesn't look good if Turnbull is on a North-Korean-style witch-hunt to find who outed him.

And it will, hopefully, put those disastrous NBN details back on the front page where they belong.

Or enough traction to reveal illegal activities from within NBN workers is surely what you meant to say. Both the current Prime Minister and the Opposition leader have said as much and distanced themselves leaving it in the hands of the Australian Federal Police. But not you.

*sigh* An election is announced and now some people have to get a cheap shot in for their team. You do realise your average voter is put off by this sort of crap right?

Having been following the NBN Scheme closely since it's first rollout in 2010, I respectfully disagree.

Forget the election, this has been an issue since 2013, and it's only now getting any attention.

"The AFP agreed the NBN staff member, who was present during the raids and taking photographs, would download the photos he took, store them on a USB drive to be included with the sealed material, and then delete them from his mobile phone.

But then the AFP advised Labor that the staff member had already disseminated the images"

This is much more serious than you think. A whole can of worms has just been opened.

NBNCo - what a joke! You make an installation appointment with your provider weeks in advance, you confirm the appointment 24 hours beforehand, you take time off work and move furniture to make sure access is available for installation and then, bang on appointment time , NBNCo tell you - by text message - they've cancelled the installation.

No explanation, no apology, no call back option to reschedule. You just have to start from scratch with your provider and go back to the bottom of the list and see if your luck runs a little better next time.

Your provider takes no responsibility because it's NBNCo's fault and NBNCo take no responsibility because you're not their customer - and you can never be allowed to speak to the people who actually manage the installation process. You just have to keep rolling the dice and hoping, with no assurance any appointment will work out as planned.

What a joke. NBNCo shouldn't be leaking anything - they need their arses kicked - as does the government for implementing this mess.
