Open Post: What's happening in your world?

Welcome to Open Post.

Open Post is a sacred place on Mamamia where we talk about issues that are bothering us, how our weeks are going and what’s on in the world…or our minds. Whatever you want.

This week I’m a little obsessed with the content on Debrief Daily – one of Mamamia’s sister sites (and I may be a little biased, because I work on it).

Debrief Daily launched in mid-March, and is aimed at women over 40. The content is intelligent and funny – and features some of Australia’s best writers.

Here’s our Editor Annie and Senior Editor Sarah Macdonald (Author of Holy Cow!) spraying Rose Hip spray on each others faces, because that’s how we roll):

It’s something you really should know about. Thankfully I’ve put the top 6 stories of the week for you to check it. Thank me later.

1.12 great books guaranteed to rekindle your passion for reading.

Perfect if you are going on a winter holiday and need a good reading list.

2. The morbid, little-known odyssey of JFK’s original casket.

A fascinating history post about what happened in the hours after JFK was shot. Specific, fascinating and intricate.

3. Rob Lowe’s emotional farewell to his son is simply stunning.

Yes. The Rob Lowe.

As in this Rob Lowe:

4. Confessions of a trophy wife: ‘I’ve become a cliche’.

One woman who lived the ‘perfect’ life isn’t as happy as she thought.

5.How – and why – to travel alone. (It’s not as scary as you think.)

For any twenty something

6. ‘Life’s too short for toxic friends. This is how I got rid of mine.’

And while you are at it  – follow us on Facebook here.

Over to you now, what’s happening in your world?

I may have just put the nail in my dating coffin ... but I needed to get this off my chest! http://bumpyroadtobubba.com...

What's happening in my world? A married couple in the 'Berra have decided that, if gay marriage goes ahead, they plan on divorcing in protest. I kid you not, Nick and Sarah Jensen featured in Canberra CityNews. Their attitude is disgusting if you ask me

Let them. If they want to make themselves unhappy by divorcing as a protest against other people's happiness, so be it. They definitely don't deserve publicity for their views.
