Open post: What's happening in your world?

Hello there!

For those who haven’t been here before, this is Mamamia’s open post. It’s a post that goes up every week so that we have a place to catch up with all of Mamamia’s wonderful readers; to tell you what’s going on in our worlds, and hear about what’s happening in yours.

It’s been a busy week for the team here. We finally shifted offices which has been a mammoth – but awesome – task. We moved into the new digs on Friday.

Check it out:

Anyway that’s about it for us.

We hope you all have a relaxing and fun Easter break. You’ve deserved it.

Now, what’s happening in your world?

What's happening in my world - SCHOOL HOLIDAYS (jaws theme music plays). Always guaranteed to drive me nuts with screaming, whiny kids and parents at breaking point. At least I like most of my colleagues!

Best part is the 4 days of public holiday pay I'm about to receive :') Love me some penalty rates! Even if I don't get a huge weekend, I get enough money to go away another time.

Feeling a bit lonely and super single recently. I know that dating because you're lonely is bad (capital B A D = bad), but I have this feeling that I'm ready to peek out of my little shy shell and go searching rather than passively floating along. Issue is going out and finding someone who I would want to date and get into a relationship with :'( I find this process difficult and have never progressed past a second/third date. Anyone have suggestions for coping with cold feet syndrome, and suggestions about how to put myself out there a bit more?

I've finally got to a point where I can accept my body as mine, and don't have that baggage to lump onto someone else...Wouldn't mind having someone around that's relationship worthy, more than casual sex because I'm lonely like some of my friends have and are still lonely because they only share the physical.

My fiancé received a double lung transplant! He's slowly recovering and it's just amazing seeing him with colour in his cheeks and chatting away without having to stop to catch his breath. I am so eternally grateful to the wonderful family who donated their family members organs. Please everyone, have this discussion with your family, it has made the biggest difference to our life and his donor is my new hero.
Looking forward to him coming home today. Will be a little bit nervous at first but he's doing such an incredible job it's more exciting than anything!

Wow! That is incredible.
I'm so totally humbled by science, humans can do some pretty damn amazing things.
