Probably the most offensive church sign ever.

Whoopsidoodle.

A church has managed to offend pretty much anyone ever with one sign.

The Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle in Tennessee, USA, displayed a sign reading “Remember Satan was the first to demand equal rights.”

The pastor of the church Tony Greene defended the choice. “Our sign referencing Satan demanding his equal rights to ascend into the heavens and be God was simply all about that individual.”

So interesting: This guy tells everything about growing up as a Scientologist.

“It was not a statement against any one group in particular, you know what about the rights of the unborn babies, the rights of children, the rights of everyone?”

So basically, everyone demanding equal rights is Satan. Good call, church.

After an eruption on social media, the sign was removed and replaced with “Glad you reading, did not intend to offend, we all need Christ” (which was still offensive to GRAMMAR).

Best of luck to the church. We reckon the collection plate is going to be a little empty this Sunday.

I think God needs new staff or perhaps he doesn't need any at all.

I think that all fundamentalists are mentally dysfunctional ignoramuses.

Their basic general knowledge is woeful, much of their "advice" is dangerous & discriminating and so their "places of worship" become hotbeds of fascism...........and of course........these "religious clubs" are totally unsuitable & corrupting to children.

It's possible that the seeds of some religions were once full of good intentions......it's what they've become.
They've become the very worst of what our societies dish up and try to pass off as "good".

It would be wise to stop taking religious texts literally........the Hebrew/Christian offerings were originally written by ancient thinkers & creative writers that were translated (and translated again ) into a more flowery form of "James 1st English" (he was the nephew of Elizabeth 1st) to appeal to the superstitious who actually thought that this theatrical-sounding English was "the word of God".

One of the results of how this is used & abused to push an agenda is the above notice board.
EQUAL RIGHTS in "Good 'ol boy Tennessee USA" ?...........What are they ?
