Ugh, I feel SO awful for that boy's friends and family. (And of course the poor girl beheaded, which is horrific - but the boy's situation mirrors one I've experienced, so really hits home) Everyone hug their loved ones today/tonight.

Here is a real story on mis treatment of women in the extreme (killing of a 14 yo girl for refusing to marry), and the story will end up hidden with other news snippets and become irrelevent.
Surely this deserves a full article?

I totally take your point. Sadly there is so much tragedy in the world, including around the mistreatment of women and girls that we simply can't cover it all in depth.
If you have a scan through previous MM articles you'll see that we regularly cover the terrible things that do happen to women internationally, particularly in regards to marriage, divorce and sexual freedoms.
