New plastic surgery procedure you need to know about so you can stop comparing yourself to freakily ‘youthful’ celebrities in their 40s and 50s who should look older but don’t.

Exhibit A: The Ribbon Lift.
See the weird…THING that runs from Madonnas ear down her neck? It’s apparently a ‘ribbon’.

This photo was taken a few days before the Oscars, where Madonna hosted her own post-Oscars party and had everyone talking about her incredibly youthful appearance. According to reports: “her super smooth complexion practically glowed under the spotlight. Now there is speculation her wrinkle-free skin is the result of an new procedure called the ‘ribbon lift’. The Daily Mail reports:

The 30-minute treatment, which is available at Beverly Hills clinics
for around $6,000 (£4,300), uses a dissolvable ribbon implant to lift
neck tissues through a short incision around the earlobe.

It takes around two months for the ribbon to be absorbed and the results last around three years.

In
an interview in the latest issue of Grazia magazine, plastic surgeon
Alex Karidis claims Madonna was showing telltale signs of the procedure
in a photograph taken days prior to the star-studded ceremony.

Mr
Karidis explained: ‘[A tube-like device] is tunnelled under the skin
and has lots of tiny hooks that attach to the muscle and tissue. We
then pull it upwards to lift the whole area.’

‘It doesn’t appear
as if the ribbon has dissolved properly. However, she looks to have
cleverly covered it with a loose hairstyle at the Oscars party.’

Sigh. Another day, another way for women to butcher themselves in the name of looking younger.

Why can't we just leave Madonna alone? Why is it any of our business? I'm not a huge fan or anything but if that is what she want and she's not harming anyone then why should YOU judge her; it's her body she can do what she likes with it and you people are just as bad as you think she is for judging her so quickly. I'm sure you all wear make-up and nice clothes, don't you? I'm not defending her decision but everyone has gone OTT with this. Does wearing make-up and nice clothes and going to the gym mean that you don't accept yourself?
