Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are separating after 11 years together.

First it was Brangelina. Now, another long-time Hollywood couple have announced they are splitting, and this one is hitting a little closer to home.

Australian actress Naomi Watts and her partner of 11 years, Liev Schreiber, have announced they are separating.

"Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple," they told ET in a joint statement.

"It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship.

"While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy."

The couple have been together since 2005, and while they have never married, they are the proud parents to two children: Alexander "Sasha" Pete, 9, and Samuel "Sammy" Kai, 7.

Liev recently stepped out with his eldest son at the 2016 Emmys, posting snaps of the pair getting ready to Instagram.

Naomi also shared images on her social media, wishing her partner good luck for the night. Liev was nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series for his role on Ray Donovan.
