Mum charged after three-month-old baby girl dies on her change table.

26-year-old mother Laci Lynn Taylor has been charged with child endangerment resulting in death, after her three-month-old daughter suffocated when she rolled over on her change table.

According to court documents, Taylor left her daughter RemmeLyn unattended around 7:45am on her changing table on September. When Taylor left the room, baby RemmeLyn rolled over and her neck was compressed against the side of the table.

The three-month-old’s airways were cut off and she was suffocated.

The documents also showed that RemmeLyn’s mother was aware her daughter could roll over on her own.

"The fact that she left the child alone for an extended period of time is what makes it criminal," Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek told KCRG news.

Despite the charges, Taylor's husband, Don, described the incident as a "freak accident that could happen to anyone".

"I have no ounce in my body that blames my wife at all," he said.

"They can say whatever they want, but it was an accident. That's the thing."

Laci is currently being held in Polk County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond.

So will parents whos children die in back yard pools because they were out of sight for "only a second" get charged with murder too? You could use the same argument as they did here "you knew your child could walk and climb". Surely there is something else missing from this article
