A Sydney man has been arrested and charged with common assault after chilling footage of him allegedly beating his partner during a Fortnite livestream was sent to police, the Sydney Morning Heralreports.

The 26-year-old man with the username “MrDeadMoth” was broadcasting himself playing the violent video game at about 8.30pm Sunday night when he began arguing with his partner, who was calling for him to get off the computer.

Viewers of the distressing livestream called the police to the man’s Oran Park home, where he was arrested.

In the confronting footage below, the man is seen yelling at someone before disappearing off screen to the sounds of a woman allegedly being slapped and punched, followed by children crying.

“Can you not? I said I’ll be out soon,” he yells, before getting up from his chair.

“No computer, I’m sick of this shit,” the woman is heard responding.

After what sounds like a slap, followed by a scream and crying, the man then sits down and resumes playing.

“You f**king woman basher,” the woman shouts after the first alleged assault.

“Don’t hit me in the face, don’t you dare touch my face.

“You hear that, all you people there? He just hit me in the face.”

The yelling continues, and the man is seen getting up from his chair a second time; raising his arm and appearing to hit something off camera.

After this, a child can be heard crying.

"I hope all of you people know that I'm pregnant and he just bashed me," the woman says in a second video obtained by the Herald.

"F**k off. I will be out soon, you dog. You don't pay the f**king bills," the man responds.

He leaves his chair for the third time, after which a loud wail and more sobbing is heard.

"Get out of my f**king life," he says, before sitting back down to his video game.

During the altercation, a child can be heard yelling, "Daddy, daddy!"

As reported by the Herald, the man was arrested at 11.30pm on Sunday, and taken to Narellan police station where he was charged with common assault.

It is believed the children's cries were from two girls, aged three and 20 months, who were home at the time of the broadcasted argument.

The man, who has also been served an apprehended violence order, will appear in Camden Local Court on Thursday.

The video featuring the alleged assault has since been removed from Twitch, the Amazon-owned streaming service on which the man was filmed, but it has been viewed more than 5 million times on Twitter.

Anyone actually watch the video? She was throwing an assortment of stuff at him before he even got up from his seat. I don't condone his actions by any stretch, but let's not pretend she was completely innocent in this. Maybe if she didn't provoke him it wouldn't have escalated to the point it did. But lets not let facts get in the way of biased feminist news.

I don't at all condone his behaviour, but I find it interesting that this article neglects to mention that the man was calmly telling her he would be done soon, and then the woman appeared to intentionally throw several objects at him, after which the fight escalated. My wife had one of her exes throw a soup can at her and that essentially ended the relationship. There is certainly much more we don't know from both sides of the camp...
