Below awaits a list of blockbusters that fulfill all your imagination’s desires, whether it’s remakes, sequels (and prequels) or Disney classics come to life, there’s something in 2017 for everyone.
A Cure for Wellness
Release date: 23rd February
Gore Verbinski, the visionary director of The Ring, brings us a brand new psychological thriller. The plot involves an idyllic yet mysterious “wellness center” in the picturesque Swiss Alps where secrets are uncovered and his (… and our) sanity is tested. Watch this movie’s chilling trailer above.
Fifty Shades Darker
Release date 10th February
Fifty Shades fans: unite, organise a night out to the movies and enjoy this flick, out in time for Valentine's Day. Watch Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel slip into something a little darker. Movie trailer here.
Beauty and the Beast
Release date: 23rd March
A much-loved childhood classic is coming to life and we couldn't be more excited. With Emma Watson and Dan Stevens leading the cast, all the stars seem to be aligning and Beauty and the Beast is shaping up to be a movie the whole family will love. Movie trailer here.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell no Tales

Baywatch
Release date: around May
Baywatch is back! Only this time, it comes with a whole new cast including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra. If your own nostalgia paired with these actors aren't reason enough to draw you to watch this movie, then there's always this: funny man Seth Gordon is the director so you're almost guaranteed to be in for a lot of laughs. Wonder Woman
Release date: Around June
After leaving her all-female island, Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) discovers her full powers while fighting alongside soldiers during World War I. Even though Gal Gadot isn’t wearing the classic Wonder Woman outfit seen at almost all fancy dress parties, this movie is sure to be an action packed ride filled with #girlpower. Movie trailer here.
The Mummy
Release date: Around June
As though the first movies in this franchise weren't terrifying enough, this new reboot is set to usher us into a “whole new world of Gods and monsters”. The film centres on the stor of an ancient princess who was unjustly robbed of her destiny. She, of course, is reawakened. And Tom Cruise is in for some mega danger. Movie trailer here.
Despicable Me 3
Release date: Around June
The minions obsession continues with the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their daughters and the minions facing off with their toughest nemesis yet, a former child star obsessed with becoming the character he played in the ’80s. Movie trailer here.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Release date: Around July
Follow new Peter Parker/Spider-Man Tom Holland back to his high school years as he uncovers his real identity and begins to fight crime.
Star Wars Episode VIII
Release date: 15th December
The Star Wars hysteria continues with the second installment of this trilogy. We have a whole year to get excited about this blockbuster movie.
