The moustaches we're secretly happy to be waving goodbye to.

November has drawn to a close, and Movember with it.

The annual challenge — where men are ‘sponsored’ to grow out their facial hair — tackles some of the biggest health issues faced by men, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

The hairy month aims to raise funds and start a conversation about these illnesses, which aren’t always discussed so publicly.

This year, a number of high-profile Aussie men have ditched their razors for Movember, using their profiles to put the spotlight on men’s health.

While while it’s a wonderful cause, there’s only so much moustache we can handle…

From Andy Lee’s “bustache” to Sasha Mielczarek’s handlebar mo, there are a few that we will be secretly thankful to see go.

So until next year, here is a collection of the moustaches Australia will be waving goodbye to this week. (Post continues after gallery.)

The best efforts from Movember 2016

Movember has raised hundreds of millions of dollars since friends Travis Garone and Luke Slattery came up with the idea in 2003.

Organisations including Beyond Blue, The Black dog Institute and The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia have benefited from the hirsute challenge.

So to those of you who grew yours out this November we say, ‘thank you’.

Ah, see, I'm quite partial to a mo. Possibly because I grew up in the 80s, when all the manly men had them - Tom Selleck is still a personal favourite! When did hairy men go out of fashion?
