Miss World Australia quits competition citing abuse of women.

Miss World Australia contestant has broken the Beauty-Queen section of the internet after she withdraw from the contest at the last minute.

24 year old Stephanie Campbell announced on her Facebook page on Sunday, ‘I decided to remove myself from Miss World Australia yesterday lunchtime.”

“I only support organisations I believe in … I do not condone abusive and disrespectful treatment of women.”

She finished with a nod to popular movie, The Hunger Games, “Good luck to the girls who still think the title has value and are competing for it at the crowning event tonight. May the odds be ever in their favour.”

“I only support organisations I believe in.”

And with that, she deactivated her Facebook account.

Speaking to Fairfax about the event, Campbell said she left the competition on Saturday after she, “became fully aware of what being Miss World Australia would involve.”

“‘I just decided it wasn’t for me and I’m pursuing other things. “The issue was never with the girls and I did wish Courtney (winner of Miss World Australia) all the best.”

Campbell entered the competition after learning how to walk again following a skydiving accident. The Daily Mail reported that Campbell fell with such force when skydiving, she broke bones in her back , her wrist and her ribs, while also puncturing her lungs.

She made a remarkable recovery in order to participate in the competition and documented it in a video:

Wow. I'd love to know the reason behind why she quit. I'm sure there's more to it.

No she hasn't. She does not resile from any of the comments she made on Facebook despite all the conjecture and speculation that has been made by journalists or other individuals who are either misinformed or wilfully spreading falsehoods.
