Mamamia’s Creative Director Mia Freedman has been acting out.
First she got a dramatic hair change – cutting her hair into a short, voluminous, textured crop. It was her most dramatic hair change yet, and we captured the action here.
Now, she’s getting piercings, and considering getting another tattoo.
She says, “I’ve been wanting for a while to either get another tattoo or more piercings, some might call it a mid-life crisis. Maybe it is.”
Her children are against it, which she says “kind of brings out the rebel in me.”

I'm 61 and have wanted the second piercing for a few years so just before Xmas I had to get a prescription filled and saw a sign saying they did ear piercings. After I gave the chemist the prescription he asked if there was anything else so in a split second decision I said I'll have my ears pierced. I did And I love them! Now I get to wear twice as many of my beautiful earrings!!
I've been wanting to do this for a while too! I'm coming up on the big 4-0 later this year, and I think I'm kind of at the point where I don't really care what anyone else thinks - not that anyone else would really give a rats behind anyway. You've inspired me, Mia, as soon as I can organise it, I'm getting mine done too. Finally 'rebelling' after never really doing it in my teenage years!
