Why Meghan Markle didn't stand with the Queen and Kate Middleton on Remembrance Day.

The annual Remembrance Day service took place in London this weekend and as usual, the royal family took a leading role in the commemorations.

While Prince Charles lay the wreath, the Queen, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge stood on a balcony above the cenotaph.

However Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was standing on another balcony alongside Elke Büdenbender, the wife of the German president and people were a bit… confused.

Royal fans were left wondering if Meghan was slighted, with some even suggesting she was left out because of a supposed uh, 'falling out' with the Queen over her wedding tiara.

Hmm.

But the real reason is far less scandalous. Simply put, the balconies are small, so there is no room for a fourth person without it getting a bit squishy. (We bet the Queen of England hates squishy.)

Since Camilla and Kate are both future Queen consorts, being married to future kings and all, they take precedence over Meghan in the royal pecking order. It makes sense that they were the ones standing alongside Her Majesty.

Besides, Meghan was actually given a highly important position herself as she stood next to the wife of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. This year marked the first time a German leader had taken part in the UK's Remembrance Day commemorations.

It was also Meghan's first year taking part in the commemorations, and we're betting she would like the focus to be on remembering those who fought and lost their lives at war - not her position on a balcony.

Quite a few people take precedence over Meghan in the royal hierarchy, not just Kate and Camilla. In reality Meghan is a bit player who isn't as revolutionary or as central as most tabloids have been trying to make out.

It is pretty amazing how many "fans of the Royals" are such massive fans but at the same time, apparently have no clue about them. It's almost like they're just saying they love the Royals because they really like Meghan.

Yes, it would be refreshing for someone to admit that they think Meghan and Harry are important figures because they look good and wear nice clothes. Instead we're all meant to pretend that Meghan is single-handedly re-shaping the Royal family and Commonwealth with her refreshing feminist ways.
