The Spill: Thursday's best entertainment and gossip news.

1. ‘They seemed to hit it off.’ There are rumours MAFS’ Connie Crayden and Bachie Matt Agnew met up in Melbourne and WHAT.

Well, this certainly isn’t the reality TV crossover we were expecting… but we’re not mad about it.

There are rumours going around that our former Bachie, Matt Agnew, met Connie from MAFS at an event in Melbourne a few weeks ago, and apparently they “really hit it off”.

“Connie was chatting with Matt for ages,” a source supposedly told OK!.

“They seemed to really hit it off. There was definitely some serious chemistry between them.”

As we all know, Matt, who appeared on the last season of The Bachelor, split up with winner Chelsie McLeod a few weeks after the show wrapped up.

And Connie, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to be rock solid with her on-screen husband Jonethen (as has been the case for the past five weeks).

While nothing has been confirmed yet, we think the 27-year-old marine biology student and the 32-year-old astrophysicist could have some major chemistry together.

We’ll just have to wait and see if Connie and Jonethen (finally) decide to go their separate ways when Married At First Sight returns on Sunday at 7pm on Nine.

2. “They were quite concerned.” The Big Brother Australia cast have been told about the coronavirus pandemic.

Right now it feels as though everyone in Australia is across the global pandemic that is currently taking place. But it seems that not everyone knows how quickly things have escalated…

The contestants of the revamped reality TV series Big Brother Australia entered the house to film the show three weeks ago, and only now have they been told about the current state of the world.

The men and women who are living inside the house in Manly, Sydney, have been in complete isolation from the media and others.

Sonia Kruger, who is back to host the new season, explained on Sunrise how the cast members were told about coronavirus.

“Our Executive Producer went into the house and spoke to them through the diary room,” Kruger said.

She continued by explaining how they all reacted and what they were most worried about.

“They were shocked, as most people would be learning the news about a worldwide pandemic.

“They were quite concerned about the football codes maybe not going ahead!”

Although we have no news about when the season will air or who the contestants are, Channel Seven has shared that the show will air very soon. And, we cannot wait.

3. Connie Crayden just explained whether she was forced to stay in last night’s MAFS commitment ceremony.

Connie Crayden has explained why she decided to write ‘stay’ in last night’s Married At First Sight commitment ceremony – and her answer was very… careful.

Speaking to A.B. and Ben on Coffs Coast HIT 105.5, the 27-year-old explained that there are storylines in reality TV that need to be executed.

“At the end of the day, it’s a TV show and there are storylines. Producers like to do whatever they can to execute that storyline,” she started.

“No one held a gun to my head and I was the one who put that pen to the paper and wrote ‘stay’. I take full ownership that I was the one who wrote it.”

She then went on to say that the plotline will play out, and the questions people have as to why she stayed will be answered.

“Everyone has been saying like, ‘WTF, why did she do that? I think if everyone is a little bit patient and just waits until the final vows, the storyline kind of plays out and it’s like, ‘oh, we get it now’.”

Very cryptic…

4. They’re on a break! The Friends reunion special has been put on hold due to COVID-19.

The Friends reunion has been the latest television series/film to pause filming due to COVID-19, and although the news is unsurprising, it is just as disappointing, thank you very much.

According to Variety, filming – which was set to begin next week – will be pushed back to May at the earliest.

The reunion has been in the works for months but was officially announced when Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry collectively shared the news over Instagram in February.

5. “I’m glad to be in isolation with you.” Sophie Cachia has introduced us to her new girlfriend.

After announcing her separation from her husband Jaryd Cachia in September 2019, Sophie Cachia has seemingly introduced us to her new girlfriend.

On Wednesday night, the entrepreneur and influencer shared a photo on Instagram alongside Matildas player Alanna Kennedy.

“Everything has a place and a time,” the mother-of-two captioned the post.

“It’s been a longggggg and bumpy road to get here but I’m glad to be in isolation and running out of toilet paper with you.”

After sharing the photo, fans and friends of the business owner congratulated the pair.

“So wonderful for you,” one fan commented.

“Happy for you Sophie. Been watching your journey for years now and so glad you have found your happy place,” another wrote.

“Makes me so happy to see you happy,” another commented.

Alanna, who is an Olympic soccer player, plays for both the Matildas and Orlando Pride in the US National Women’s Soccer League.

Sophie announced her split from her husband of four years, Jaryd Cachia, in September 2019.

Sharing her news in an Instagram post, the 29-year-old was adamant she and Jaryd were on amicable terms, stating that he was “forever my soulmate” in a later Instagram post. They would also continue parenting their two children together – Bobby, six, and Florence, two.

“Separation more often than not comes with the assumption of animosity or hatred,” she wrote.

“Whilst it hasn’t always been easy navigating through co-parenting under the same roof this year [which has included family holidays, continual support of personal careers & no changes to our social setting], we truly appreciate how lucky we are to have each other."
