Mariah Carey and James Packer's wedding is going to be bonkers.

When Mariah Carey married Sony Music head Tommy Mottola in 1993, she wore a monstrous $25,000 Vera Wang gown with a 27-foot-long train and had 50 flower girls.

She’d reportedly studied Princess Diana and Prince Charles’s nuptials with the intention of outstripping the royal couple.

Carey married second husband Nick Cannon on the patio of her mansion overlooking the Atlantic on her own private Bahamian island in 2008.

A commercial jet carried two tanks of live Maine lobsters from the US for the wedding feast and another filled with flowers.

Five years later, they shut down Disneyland to renew their vows. Carey dressed as Cinderella and rode in a horse-drawn pumpkin carriage to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. The ceremony ended with a fireworks display, then all the guests went on rides or washed down diamonds with Cristal Champagne or something.

Now that Carey’s marrying a billionaire in the form of our very own James Packer, 47, we really want to know what fresh horror extravagances they have in mind.

He’s already bestowed an insane 35-carat diamond engagement ring on the singer, a piece of jewellery that had even Cannon gaping.

Packer married his last wife Erica Packer (nee Baxter) on France’s Cote d’Azur. The model wore a $100,000 Dior gown to the ceremony, which cost a reported $6 million.

Packer called the affair “nothing lavish”.

His first wedding, to Jodhi Meares in 1999, cost $10 million and featured Elton John entertaining the 700 guests.

The much-married couple are going to have to go big or go home for this one.

The world is their oyster for wedding venues. Will they choose Australia’s Hayman Island? (That’s the Daily Mail’s hot tip)

Could they opt for somewhere in Italy, where they were first pictured together?

Will they simply forgo all the paltry destinations earth has to offer and try somewhere more exotic, such as Mars?

How many children, with their tiny hands, will be required to sew the Swarovski crystals onto Mimi’s wedding dress?

What rare and endangered species will feature on the wedding menu? Filet of panda? Black rhino soup?

And who will conduct the ceremony? Oprah?

Only time will tell, but we await this wedding with bated breath.

I can't lie, I'm fascinated to see what this wedding is going to be like. I'm dying to see if they can out-flash Kim and Kanye! It's going to be so OTT, and possibly tacky, I can't wait!

It would be effing awesome if they did a low-key ceremony at a civil registry office and then had a backyard BBQ, sure at a mansion with some wait staff, why not?!
