Man raped his pregnant partner while she was in labour as she screamed for him to stop.

A man aged in his 40s has faced court over the rape of his partner while she was in labour, despite the fact she begged him to stop. The woman was in the late stages of labour when the alleged attack took place in their home.

After the alleged rape, the man is reported to have “acted as if nothing happened” and offered to run his girlfriend a bath, just hours later she gave birth to their son in hospital.

All the while the woman was begging him to stop. Via I-Stock.The couple, who had been together for seven years, were in bed together while she went through the stages of labour.

A court in the UK has heard that the woman was awake, while her partner slept next to her in their home in Hull, East Yorkshire, at around 11.30pm on the night the alleged rape took place.

Prosecutor Michael Greenhalgh told the court how the woman had entered the "advanced stages of labour" and was awake trying to relieve her pain, The Sun reports.

Mr Greenhalgh said: “She was in bed, naked as she normally would be. In order to try and relieve the pressure and the pain of the contractions, she got onto all fours because she had been told that was a way of relieving the pain.”

He told the court that the man woke up and saw his partner attempting to relieve her contractions.

“She was in that position when the defendant woke up. He saw her naked on all fours and said "I feel horny", to which she replied "are you serious?".

“The defendant then got behind her and started having sex with her.”

Hull County court in the UK has heard the first day of the man's trial. Via WikiCommons.Mr Greenhalgh said the man’s partner made it extremely clear she did not want to have sex, but the man did not listen.

“She made it clear to him that that was not something she wanted or something she was consenting to,” he said.

According to The Sun Mr Greenhalgh said: 'How did she do that? Well, in the first place it was obvious, one might have thought, because she was crying in pain from the contractions, but she also told him to stop it and said to him "please don't".'

“The defendant didn't listen to that and continued having sex with her.”

All the while the woman was crying out in pain and begged him to stop.

Mr Greenhalgh said after the alleged assault the defendant acted like nothing was wrong and “even asked if she wanted him to run a bath for her.”

The man then acted like nothing had occurred. Via I-Stock. Soon after, the woman went to hospital and gave birth to their baby boy.

The court heard that after the baby’s birth the alleged victim did not return home, instead she went to stay with her mother because the heating at the couple's property was broken.

During this time she did not report the rape, and the court heard that SMS messages between the two were of “affection and excitement because of their child.”

When she did return home though the woman reported the rape.

Mr Greenhalgh: ''The woman will note two things precipitated that change. Firstly, she was back in the bedroom where this happened, which is a stark and uncomfortable reminder to her. And, he behaved in an inappropriate way with the new baby.

The prosecutor told the court that an incident, where the man allegedly verbally abused her, helped her decide to report the alleged attack.

“The child is crying and he wouldn't let her pick the child up and refers to it as a "spoilt little ****". It was at that point she decided she couldn't forget what has happened.”

The man has denied the pair had sex.

The trial is ongoing.

Seems like he was found "not guilty".
Is she going to be prosecuted for making a false claim I wonder ?
Sounds like she's done the usual "make up stories" to get at him after they had a fight.
She sounds like a nasty piece of work. Hopefully he can get custody.

Um, what part of the "trial is ongoing" is confusing? He hasn't been found guilty or innocent. As for her making it up - I have been sexually assaulted and it was by a stranger. I still felt guilt, shock, disbelief and it was days before I was able to report it. I can't even imagine what it would have been like if I had been in a loving relationship with the person let alone vulnerable and in labour.

How about before you start victim blaming we let the court system do their job.

Hi Bizness. I'm assuming you don't have a very good grasp of things called "dates", so I will explain. The story in question was originally published on the 23rd of November. The jury returned a "not guilty" verdict on the 25th of November, after approximately 30 minutes of deliberations. I made my comment on the 26th of November.
Can you understand where you made your mistake now ?
In future, it's probably wise to do a little bit of independent research before you go shooting your mouth off. Also, I would hasten to add such a short jury deliberation time usually means the jury found the accusers allegations "unreliable".
Draw your own conclusions. It appears you can put away the flaming torches and pitchforks now.
