Best and Worst: How's your week been?

By LOUISE AYLING

Happy Friday, faithful Mamamia readers! Yes, you read correctly, it’s Friday. You’ve made it.

It’s that time of the week where we can all sit back, relax and unwind. This is Mamamia’s Best and Worst so feel free to have a bit of a vent or a whine, or even brag about that amazing job you did on your make-up this morning. Not me, though. Because my winged eyeliner is mismatched today.

What’s going on with me then? I’m just crossing my fingers hoping the weather stays as nice as it has been the last few days.

Best: I just bought a new mobile phone and I am awaiting it’s arrival. I am stoked. I’m far from one of those people that always has to have the newest technology- I had a Nokia slide phone until December 2012 when I was gifted my sister’s old broken iPhone. So you can imagine that this would be a pretty big deal for me. I am counting down the days until it arrives.

Worst: When you put aside  all the doom and gloom that’s happening around the world I would have to say the worst part of my week was discovering my favourite shoes fell apart on me into the office today. I like shoes. I like shoes a lot. But I’m talking about flat, comfortable leather shoes that you wear every day for 2 years until they fall apart. I only got to wear my shoes for 3 months. 3 months! I am devastated. Off to the boot-maker for me.

Moving on from my materialistic ramblings, how are you? How was your week?

Best 1: going to Sirromet winery today with another couple. Yum, wine and food....
Best 2: got a couple of dresses that were cheap and on sale, that I can wear to work or going out. Got one on today.

Worst: worked Friday and will be working next Friday. Looked at the roster for next month and our acting manager put me down to be working every Friday, without talking to me about it. Gaaaah. I've emailed her anyway.

OMM: trying Ibogast for reflux to see if I can come off Zantac. Mostly ok, but I think I'll have to give in today, particularly if I want to drink wine. Has anyone else tried Ibogast and how did they find it?

I find Zantac useless and use Nexium. Works a lot better for me, and my husband.

I'm on Somac, find Nexium useless! Somac works well for me, thank goodness.

Interesting, Alchemy finds Nexium good. I've found that Somac, Losec and Pariet all work well, but with Pariet particularly, you risk developing polyps = not good. So went off it and Zantac does the trick, but thought I'd give Iberogast a go. It's a herbal treatment that has actually been studied and seems ok, not as effective as Zantac, but maybe if I just use it occasionally...

Best: Have been eating well and exercising more. Also spent some quality time with my grandma which was great.

Worst: I seemed to be moving on better after the breakup but tonight I foolishly contacted my ex and he's just so indifferent which triggered me feeling really shit about myself. They say the opposite of love is indifference and it's bloody awful when someone you love goes from seemingly loving and caring about you to cutting all contact and acting like they couldn't give a fuck.
