Open Post: Mamamia's new Food Blogger is...

Welcome to this week’s Open Post.

If you’re new here, this is a place where you can tell us about anything, and everything that is happening in your world. The good, the bad and the insanely ridiculous. If you need advice, ask for it because we’ve got lots to give.

I’m going to kick things off, because I have some VERY exciting news.

We have found our new Food Blogger, hand picked by all of you during our Food Blogger Idol competition that’s been running over the past few weeks.

It was a close sprint to the finish and final results came down to just a handful of votes.

But we’re pleased to annouce that….

Our new Mamamia Food Blogger Is … Elly Jean-Louis!!!

Elly made an insanely delicious Figgen Scrumptious Tart and you check her entry (and the recipe) out here.Elly has won a 3 month contract to write one food post a week as Mamamia’s official new Food Blogger.

To everyone who entered, you’ve had us drooling over the sides of our chairs in the office for weeks. So thank you ever so much.

The launch of Mamamia’s Food Blogger Idol was made possible by our friends, Rachel’s Gourmet Low Fat Yoghurt.

Now…over to you. Tell us what’s happening in your world.

I rarely give much of a toss about sport, but I don't mind a bit of World Cup, so my day started well with me watching he last 1/2 hour of the Greece v Cote D'Ivoire match, and what a match! Wee bit later in to work today.

Got invited to a speed dating night out of the blue, didn't have to pay for my own ticket. So went along without expectations - nothing to lose - but I decided to ham it up by dressing really well, cracking out the pantyhose (watch out!) and getting my hair done, pretend I was off to a real date with someone I really liked. Why the hell not? We'll see, we'll see. NFI. So... it was a fun, no-pressure night, good for practice at the very least... and I think I looked quite smashing. It gave me a boost, and I feel I ought to put in that bit of extra effort in more often. :)

My whinge is internet dating. Had a lot of success in the past. This time single I'm not feeling the love. No one talks longer than a day or two on tinder. One wanted to meet me, his idea, and stood me up and deleted me. Another wanted to meet me and now won't reply to me. All the rest want to chat for a day or two then that's it. I've got 74 guys on my list and no one talks! Other sites are just the same!
