Married At First Sight fans attack Andrew after his denial over the 'boy's night'.

For Australian reality TV fans, last night was the night they’d all been waiting for.

The night when Cheryl FINALLY packed her things and left her Married At First Sight marriage – and her ‘husband’ Andrew – in the dust.

But the 25-year-old’s decision to leave the badly behaved fireman during last night’s commitment ceremony was riddled with controversy.

Fans weren’t happy that after weeks of watching Andrew say nasty things about his TV wife behind her back, he continued to deny it even though HE IS ON A TV SHOW AND EVERYTHING IS FILMED.

THE RECAP talks us through last night’s intense episode of Married At First Sight:

When asked by the show’s experts what happened during the controversial ‘boy’s night’, Andrew replied that he “didn’t know what to say”.

“It was just a light-hearted boys night,” he said.

A quick recap: during the ill-fated night, Andrew said that a simple conversation was “too much” for Cheryl to handle, and appeared to suggest that he looked at her breasts instead of her face whenever they engaged in conversation by making rude hand gestures.

Light-hearted, indeed.

Understandably, viewers were angry that he continued to deny any wrongdoing and refused to take responsibility for his actions.

It is so frustrating that Andrew was never confronted with the video truth of his behaviour. He even tried to deny his childish mimicking of Cheryl and telling Sean that he was "tripping, bro". Trying to deny and shut down the truth is a clear acknowledgment that you did wrong but refuse to face it. I don't understand his need to cling to the "victim" role, but can understand why he is single despite being a fireman and teacher. He insists that he has "so much to give" but we never saw that. What we saw was him shutting down when she did not want to kiss him, after his crappy "she's my home" song. He is TOTALLY the Chris Klein character in "Just Friends". Adapts the same song for every woman, expects to be "discovered" for his musical skills and "laid" for being fake "sensitive romantic guy". But turns feral when the ruse does not work and then wants to take revenge.

Andrew is your typical sore loser. And, to make things worse, he cannot handle alcohol very well (understatement). This is not obvious though because booze doesn't affect his tongue and legs, but it definitely makes him lose his moral brakes.
Having said that, I believe he genuinely cannot remember things that happened while he was under the influence of alcohol. I mean, who would make such a fool of themselves and deny things that are obviously caught on tape.
Anyway, the unfortunate circumstance for him was that all his 'mates' joined in a collective amnesia probably because they thought they should support whatever 'Jonesy' chose to say, lol.

The outcome = bunch of happy producers + one happy Scottish dad :)

That's an interesting take on it. I agree that he cannot handle his drink and that it brings out an uninhibited dark side. I'm just not sure that he genuinely can't remember. I do think, that if his heart was in the right place and he had no real recollection, when confronted by the effect he had on others (not in his 'Jonesy' fan club) he would have tried to say something like, " I truly don't remember but if I said things which were offensive or hurtful, I'm truly sorry." Alas. Sigh. It takes a real man. Bonnie Tyler sang about Andrew's downward spiral when she lamented
" Where have all the good men gone,
And where are all the gods?"
The "gods" in this case being the producers. They had no qualms quoting back to women that they had stated they would move for love when the women expressed conflict about moving. However, when it came to 'Jonesy', they did not quote anything back to him. They consistently danced around the collective amnesia which gripped the boiz who will be boiz. Where were THOSE moral brakes when a young woman continued to get shredded by a much older man on camera for ratings gold. Ha! I would have TOTALLY gone Psycho Scottish Dad on their a*ses!

Just like you said - "if his heart was in the right place" and "It takes a real man".

Whatever Jonesy said while drunk, those were his true thoughts and feelings. Yes, he may have some fragmented recollections of the boiz night but I believe most of it is very foggy for him.
IMO, during the last commitment ceremony, John Aiken had given Andrew just enough rope to hang himself.

As for Cheryl, I wouldn't worry much about her. She is a tough cookie and she handled the whole situation way better then many girls her age would. One thing the Psycho Scott done right - he raised his kids well.

They should have played the footage in front of the entire group, so the other ladies could see the level of participation by their own partners. Andrew would have also been forced to 'remember' what he'd said and offer an explanation instead of hiding behind that pathetic "I don't remember" excuse. I've always said it doesn't matter how a man behaves when things are going well - it's when things get tough that a person's true nature is revealed. He's proved he's nothing more than a child with the way he behaved, not only on the boy's night but also at the dinner. I hope he likes being single.

I'm sure they will play the footage, it is too precious for them. They are saving it for the reunion :)

I hope you are right, because if they DON'T, they deserve to be torn apart by a whole tribe of psychopathic Scottish dads.

Hehehe, I agree :)
