Why is it that when we share a love story, we feel the need to add a heavy dose of sarcasm? Perhaps it’s something about being Australian, we don’t want to pretend our love story is any more special than anyone else’s; lest we appear ‘up ourselves’.

Oh Em... What a year. And how brave are you not only talking about your wedding day, which must bring up mixed emotions, but also your granddad... Hugs to you girl.

Oh my. I got teary when Em talked about her grandfathers. I just can't even pinpoint the many stories of love with my husband. There was one evening where he rocked up at my house (I lived in Canberra, he was in Sydney) and he was holding an Indian take-out menu and had both a bottle of white and red wine in his hands as he didn't know which I preferred. We spent the entire weekend in bed, drunk on love and a little bit of wine. My bed at the time was a mattress on the floor and it was pure bliss.
